Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 24, 2024
At Votera, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us when you register for an account, update your profile, submit a maintenance request, or communicate with us. This may include:
- Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number.
- Property Information: Home address, unit number, association membership details.
- Financial Information: Banking details, payment history, and proof of payment documents (processed securely via our payment partners).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, including to:
- Facilitate the management of your Homeowners Association.
- Process payments, issue invoices, and manage ledgers.
- Send administrative notices, updates, and security alerts.
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests.
3. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. While no system is completely secure, we adhere to industry best practices to ensure your data remains protected.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Your HOA Board/Managers: As necessary for the administration of the community.
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment processing via PayFast, hosting, bot/fraud protection via Cloudflare Turnstile).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Bot Protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To protect our login and registration pages from automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, a CAPTCHA alternative provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile runs automatically in the background and does not require you to solve a puzzle. As part of this process, Cloudflare collects certain technical data (such as your IP address and browser characteristics) to verify that you are a real visitor rather than a bot. This data is processed by Cloudflare as an independent controller under its own privacy practices, described in the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy.
6. Contact Us
