Votera is a South African Software-as-a-Service platform built for South African community schemes, both sectional title schemes and homeowners associations. We give trustees and board members the digital tools to govern transparently, communicate effectively, and manage their communities with confidence.
Votera is a cloud-based community scheme management platform delivered entirely as a web application. No physical goods, hardware, or installation required. Trustees and board members ("Admins") subscribe to access a secure, multi-tenant dashboard that consolidates all community management functions in one place.
The platform is structured around two user types:
Manage residents and properties, publish notices, oversee maintenance, run polls, upload governance documents, and review audit logs.
Log maintenance and aesthetic requests, vote in community polls, view approved documents and notices, and manage their own property profile.
All data is isolated per scheme. Residents of one scheme cannot access any data belonging to another. Votera does not process, collect, or hold resident levies or any scheme's financial transactions. Our sole revenue stream is the subscription fee paid by scheme administrators.
A trustee, board member or estate manager registers with their name, email address and a password, then confirms their email. No payment details are asked for.
They name the scheme and give its unit count and governance framework (sectional title under the STSMA, or an HOA under its MOI). That creates the community and starts a 30-day free trial with every feature unlocked. No card required.
Residents join through a unique, secure invite link that ties them exclusively to that community. Residents never pay Votera; they use the platform under their community's subscription.
At any point during or after the trial, the community picks a plan from Billing. Payment is by PayFast (card or instant EFT) or by EFT against an invoice, which is how most bodies corporate prefer to pay. Pricing is per unit, so the price follows the size of the scheme.
Thirteen modules covering maintenance, governance, levy statements, bookings, vendor compliance and community communication, plus the statutory reserve fund and 10-year maintenance plan every sectional title scheme is obliged to keep. A community switches on the modules it uses; the rest stay out of the way.
