Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 30-day trial work?

Every new scheme gets a full 30-day trial with every module switched on. No credit card required. We email you 7 days and 1 day before it ends. When it ends nothing is charged: you have 7 days to choose a plan, and after that the scheme is read-only until one is chosen. Your data is retained for 30 days while you decide.

Can we switch tiers later?

Yes. Whoever manages billing for your scheme can choose a different plan from the Billing page at any time. A higher plan starts at once, and the unused days you have already paid for come off the first payment. A lower plan starts when the period you have paid for ends.

What payment methods do you accept?

Most schemes pay by invoice and EFT: a bank transfer, or instant EFT through a PayFast pay link. You can also pay by card through PayFast, up to R9 999 per payment, so larger annual amounts go by invoice and EFT. Votera does not process or collect levies or resident payments. The subscription is paid by the scheme itself.

Is there a setup fee?

No. There are no setup fees, hidden charges, or long-term contracts on any tier. Enterprise engagements include custom onboarding at no extra cost.

What counts as a unit?

The number of units or stands in your scheme, which you set when you register and can correct in Settings. Houses, apartments, townhouses and vacant stands all count, whether or not anyone has signed in. You pay for the size of your community, not the number of logins.

Can we add or remove features?

Yes. Anyone who manages your scheme's settings can switch individual modules on or off. There are no paid add-ons: every module is included in its tier. Service Providers and Levy Statements come with Essentials and Complete, and are the two lines that separate them from Governance, which covers voting, meetings, documents, directory, notices and pets.

The provision of services is subject to availability. Subject to availability and receipt of payment, access will be activated within 1 business day and confirmed by email. In cases of unavailability, Votera will refund the subscription fee in full within 30 days. Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once the billing period has commenced. Annual subscriptions may be cancelled within 5 business days of payment for a full refund. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time via your account dashboard; access continues until the end of the paid period. Subscriptions are paid by invoice and EFT, or by card through PayFast.
